Separate purposes
Account operations, listing history, source evidence, transaction records, verification references and disputes have different purposes. Public display may end before legally necessary internal retention ends.
Review and holds
Retention rules require an approved purpose and review date. An in-scope legal hold pauses destruction; it does not authorize public display or unlimited unrelated retention. Sensitive proof should be held by an appropriate provider where possible.
Requests
Account deletion is reviewed for required retention and minimization rather than blindly cascading through marketplace history. Where appropriate, pseudonymize retained records and coordinate deletion with providers. A request receipt is not confirmation that deletion has completed.
Items for counsel and operator review
Approve category periods, lawful bases, backup handling, anonymization and hold release ownership.
